Books or any other type of text fall into the category of literary works, and in Mexico, the institution in charge of carrying out the proper registration of these documents is the National Institute of Copyright (INDAUTOR).
At the Registry Office of said governmental entity, you will have to carry out a process to register the creation of your work so that you can be granted your rights over it. For this purpose, you will have to fill out special formats that may vary depending on the creation status of the work you will register, that is, if you are a full or partial author.
Normally, the INDAUTOR takes about 15 days to give a resolution of the process, to know if the process to be executed was carried out correctly. These registration processes can be complicated when filling out the forms or when it is necessary to answer the decisive ones.
